Day 1: Preparing Clay and Centering
In this session, you will learn how to prepare and wedge your own clay. You will be introduced to the Bull's/Ram's Head method to ready the clay for throwing. Finally, you will perfect the first and most crucial step to working on the wheel: Centering.

Day 2: Cylinder
Students will learn the next step which is to open the mound of clay, make a base, and pull up the walls to make the most basic form, the Cylinder.

Day 3: Blindfold throwing
Clay is a very intuitive medium and this exercise is meant to help you to focus entirely on the material. When one of your senses is cut off completely, the others spring into action. We will focus on the sense of touch since it's the most important when throwing.

Day 4: Forming techniques
Once you learn how to make cylinders, the next step is to convert them into different shapes. This class will focus on making the most basic of shapes: Cups and Bowls.

Day 5: Trimming, Finishing, and Attachments
Students will be taught how to finish their pieces in preparation for firing. Trimming is done to remove any excess clay to give an even & consistent thickness throughout. Finishing involves adding any aesthetic elements to the base & rim of your piece. Lastly, students will learn how to make and attach handles and knobs.

Day 6: Review & Practice
On the final day, students will get to practice the newly learned skills they have developed over the course of the 3 weeks. The instructor will assist with any techniques that the student needs further assistance with.

Included:
- Tools
- Apron
- Unlimited clay
- Students will be allowed to choose SIX finished pieces they've made throughout the 3 weeks which will be bisque-fired. Once the pieces have been bisque-fired, students will need to visit the studio to glaze their pieces before the final glaze-firing to make them food safe and fully functional.
