This is the follow-up to our "Wheel Throwing for Beginners I" workshop or for students with previous wheel throwing experience (you are expected to know how to
center & pull your clay). Students will be sharpening their skills and expanding the range of methods on how to form the base cylinder and bowl. Students will also be working with slightly larger amounts of clay to be able to make bigger pieces. The instructor will teach students how to incorporate unique, decorative elements into their works such as handles and other surface and body alterations using both their hands and other tools. Finally, students will learn to recognize flaws in construction and master techniques to not only fix them but ultimately avoid them in the future.
Included:
- Tools
- Apron
- Unlimited clay
- Students will be allowed to choose SIX finished pieces they've made throughout the 3 weeks which will be bisque-fired. Once the pieces have been bisque-fired, students will need to visit the studio to glaze their pieces before the final glaze-firing to make them food safe and fully functional.
